Makings of a rib plane ! |
Quartersawn blanks are chosen, and shaped using vintage, and custom molding planes. A Mother plane is used to shape the sole profile. Notice the shavings. The mortise and iron bed are cut at York Pitch, about a 50 degree angle. The wedge is custom fit to the iron. The chamfers and handhold are then shaped by hand. |
