IRON FORGING |
The Iron is then flame hardened by hand and quenched in oil. After which, it is tempered to the proper hardness and strength and second quenched. The end of the tang is then hand forged in my signature (lambs tongue hook) This serves as a safety catch when loosening or adjusting the iron. It can not fall out and chip!!! Even if the wedge is removed.... It is then honed and sharpend with a 1200 grit water stone, producing the finest of shavings without even the need for sanding. |
