FINISHING TOUCHES |
Makers stamping is then done with the size of cut stamped on the heel.... Commonly, the traditional numbering system used on vintage planes will refer to the size of stock to be cut, or a simple radius expressed in sixteenths or eighths of an inch. In this case, the width of this plane is not the standard found on traditional planes as they will be somewhat smaller. So I have used a combination of numbers to reflect its radius of 18 sixteenths, or, 1-1/8" along with a width of 24 sixteenths, or, 1-1/2". The Plane is then sanded, and sealed with tung oil. |
